Best Drawer Organizers For Ikea Hemnes Dresser
Let me just start by saying that J's nursery dresser is currently the most organized dresser in the house. My dressers are pretty neat but not nearly as tidy as I'd like them to be.
The most useful nursery tip that I've come across and implemented: use a dresser
as a changing table. This is especially useful if you are working with a small space. I used the Ikea Hemnes dresser in white stain. It was a steal at $249. It's the perfect height to double as a changing table, and it has 8 drawers for tons of storage. You can find it here or at your local Ikea.
To organize your dresser like mine you'll also need to get the Skubb dresser organizers, probably a few of them. You can get them here or from your local Ikea. They come in a set of 6; I used four sets and I also used 1 of the big organizers (purchase here or at your local Ikea) with multiple compartments for my "free for all" drawer. I got them all in white but you can also purchase them in green, blue, or black.
Nursery Dresser Organization 101
Since I also use J's dresser as a changing table, I store my prefold diapers and diaper covers in the top, far left drawer. You'll notice my label making skills came to be very useful when organizing the drawers.
In the next drawer, I have all of my diaper inserts (cotton stay dry and hemp) that I purchased from Cotton Babies.
The next drawer has night diapers and pocket diapers followed by cloth wipes, washcloths, bibs and burp clothes.
So, if you haven't noticed already I cloth diaper! If you don't use cloth diapers, I would suggest still using these top, smaller drawers for all of your diapers and diaper accessories. You can store day and night diapers, wipes, diaper ointments, diaper genie bags, whatever your heart desires!
Nursery Dresser Organization: Large Drawers
The larger drawers, starting with the left side has clothes that J fits into now. The sizes aren't labeled because my husband understands that he can find whatever fits J now in these 2 drawers. On the inside, however, the Skubb organizer boxes are labeled. Clothes are categorized into sleepers, onesies, shirts, pants, and socks.

The next large drawer has swimsuits, swim diapers, hats, and sunglasses. I'm a big fan of rolling baby clothes, especially when there are a lot of pieces to try and fit in each drawer!
In the bottom left large drawer I store blankets and clothes that J will grow into.
The last large drawer is my "free for all" drawer. This is where I use my large multi-compartment Skubb box. Here is also where I store a variety of random things such as rolled blankets, extra plain white burp cloths, extra hanging cloths dividers, and winter hats (we live in Florida, so he only has 2). Here is also where I keep random bath freebies I've collected and extra baby-proofing supplies. I'm not too fond of this drawer. I often refer to it as J's "junk" drawer even though it's carefully organized as such.

On top of the dresser is one of my favorite nursery items- a 3-tiered metal organizing stand. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby but you can also find a similar one here on Amazon. I love this item because it allows me to store a variety of diapering necessities that I can grab in a hurry. No need to open and close drawers! For those of you with babies, you know how difficult it can be to change a diaper on a squirmy baby.

In the top tier (items I use less frequently) I store washcloths. In the middle tier, I store extra changing pads, toys, and puppets. And in the bottom tier (and most accessible) I store my diaper changing necessities.
I also have a framed picture of my sweet boy on the dresser and, of course, a contoured changing pad (mine was purchased here from Amazon). My changing pad cover was purchased from Target but, unfortunately, is no longer available. If you cloth diaper, a wipe warmer is a must-have in my opinion. I use the Prince Lionheart Warmies Wipe Warmer (you can buy it here on Amazon).
